MAGNOLIA - The downstairs Magnolia mini-suite features a traditional, solid
cherry four-poster queen featherbed by renowned Nashville area
cabinetmaker, Davis Cabinet Co. With an English country look, the
bed linens might be dressed with floral and red gingham sheets and
skirt accented with white lace petticoat. The private bath is
decorated with botanical prints and a crystal lamp for ambiance.
Gilchrist & Soames soaps, bath salts and other amenities have been
carefully chosen to reflect the feel of the outside English herb garden.
Average $130 to $175/night
ACKLEN - The upstairs Acklen mini-suite features a verde green, iron queen featherbed
with turbine-footed creme wicker double dresser, side tables and a sitting
area with wicker chairs and a honeysuckle wreath. The Acklen overlooks the
perennial and herb gardens. The Acklen private bath features a deep, footed
tub, amply supplied with exclusive Hillsboro House bath salts, offering a
relaxing respite for a weary traveler or a stressed business person.
Average $130 to $175/night
FAIRFAX - The Fairfax mini-suite’s antique ‘40s cottage furniture, including a mirrored
dressing table and a chest of drawers, has been delightfully hand painted with
whimsical floral decorations by a local artist. Country floral and
check bed linens dress the queen featherbed with its white eyelet skirt.
The Fairfax offers a private bath with shower.
Average $130 to $175/night
UPSTAIRS - Tucked away upstairs under the eaves of the house is a small library with a writing
desk, where guests can escape to read a favorite book, meditate or even write a
book or a little music. A memento from travels abroad, there sits an Italian marble chess
board topped with classic medieval chess pieces that awaits the challenge from two
competitive guests in a friendly game. Under the dormer roof of the library, the
arched window, with its crisscross side windows producing a shuttered effect, is
duplicated on a larger scale in the Acklen mini-suite.
